Our Programmes and Services
We serve a client base of about 260 families made up of roughly
390 adults and 260 children.
Food Allowance
The monthly allowance of food items is distributed based on the
number of people in a family.
Toiletry Allowance
When stock is available, there is a monthly allowance per family
of 1 toiletry (shampoo, body wash, deodorant, etc) and 2 bars of
soap.
Baby Care Allowance
When stock is available, families with babies 0-6 months can receive
diapers, formula and cereal. Families with babies 7-12 months can
receive diapers and cereal. There is also a separate program that
provides a grocery voucher for baby formula or baby food.
Clothing Allowance
Provides seasonal and monthly items per person in a family. This
can include: pant/shorts, shirts, underwear, pair of socks, coat,
snowsuit, jacket, dress, suit, bathing suit, housecoat, pajamas,
skirt, sweater, sweat pants, t-shirt, suit jacket, tie, vest, uniform,
hat, gloves, shoes/boots/slippers.
Kid's Lunch Programme
Provides a monthly lunch allotment based on the number of school-aged
childen.
School Items
Provides school items based on availability.
Special Needs Items
Provides specific clothing, household items or other special item.
Please let our staff know what you need and we will record it in
our Special Needs book. When the item arrives, we will hold it and
contact you. All requests are handled on a first come first serve
basis.
Other Forms of Support
Pastoral, financial and crisis counselling
A Pastoral care person will come to your home or preferred meeting
place to meet with you and to discuss your concerns and explore
some possible solutions with you. All information is strictly confidential.
Advocacy and Referral Assistance
We have an extensive list of service providers and agencies available.
You can ask for a referral or we can advocate on your behalf at
your request with a signed release of information form.
Education
Education is a key component for transformation. We offer seminars,
workshops and presentations to educate both clients and community.
Development of relationships
We are continually seeking and developing relationships wih other
community members, service providers and educational facilities
in order to build a network of support for those we serve.
We work to add our voice to those who feel unheard or powerless
to effect change in their own lives. |
